M. Moeller: You have my support

Brothers and Sisters:

Stay strong and do not let anything stand in the way of helping your less fortunate members, and improve your lives.

Society has lost its way in properly teaching our communities of the value of education.  “Incorrect” information flowing from the media has damaged thinking for ourselves. That is what education is supposed to do. Teach us to question. If administration is improperly spending, then educating the public is just one way to be sure that correct information reaches all sectors.

I am an Alumni member and am disgusted that someone has chosen to speak on “my” behalf as an Alumni member. These people never asked me, and I was never sent an email about their direct attack on the faculty, as well as their blatant support of Administration.

I also had two children attend and graduate from St. F. X, and they are Alumni. They were not contacted either on this newsletter clearly in favour of administration. They may as well forget calling me for future donations and funding, as they have clearly interfered in the negotiating process, well outside of their mandate.

Seeking improvements for people is not a wrong thing to do, and the “times are not right” excuse is as old as negotiations. The times are “never” right for Management to bargain any improvements, except for themselves.

Who are these people who have chosen to march the next generation into a tsunami of backwater benefits and salaries?

Dig deeper into their spending, and the majority who are already on your side, will only grow.

Also, I am against the “makeup” of the Student “Union”. This is not a Union and should be called something that does not deceive the meaning of unions. This is an organization that takes its’ marching orders from Administration also. The Student Union should be made up of “only” students!

If and when  they need advise from faculty and administration, then they should seek it at those times. But having people from these separate bodies on the Executive is wrong.

Stay strong and In Solidarity,

Mike and Linda Moeller
