Fall 2022 Update: Antigonish Emergency Fuel Fund

With winter fast approaching, the Antigonish Emergency Fuel Fund (AEFF) is ramping up activities as it enters its 15th winter season.

Despite recent drops in the cost of furnace oil (~40% of AEFF clients use oil), heating costs remain significantly higher than they were at the beginning of last winter and the Fuel Fund anticipates increased need this winter season.

If you can, please consider giving to the AEFF. This coming Tuesday (November 29) is Giving Tuesday. Giving Tuesday is a global day to think of others, act charitably and celebrate the power and spirit of giving. It’s a day to counter-act the commercialism of Black Friday and give to charities locally, throughout Canada and internationally.

If you give through Canada Helps between now and Giving Tuesday, you’ll automatically be entered into a pool to win a further $5,000 in charitable giving! Please note the linked AEFF Canada Gives page.

To help address this need, the StFXAUT increased its donation amount to $2000. As in past years, StFXAUT funds are earmarked for the pre-purchase of firewood.
